Recruit a Better Board than Facebook
Zero people of color hold a management position or a seat on the board at Facebook. You can do better than that. As you grow your business, you need to think about people you will invite to your board to fund your ideas and keep you accountable. Engage in an exercise to learn why diversity is crucial to an innovative Board of Directors.

Small-group Mentoring for Women: Unblock Yourself!
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Are you stuck on a problem related to your startup? Could you use some advice on managing your team? Just need to think out loud to a new set of people? Looking for a mentor?

This mentoring session is your chance to get unblocked on an issue of your choosing. We'll split up into small groups, and take turns sharing one issue (anything!) to discuss. You'll get thoughts and feedback from the group, make some new friends, and will hopefully leave feeling unblocked on one issue. Each group will be lead by a fantastic facilitator.

* This event is for women only.

Siren Call: Making Your Start-up Story Irresistible
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

On a playing field still tilted toward the Y chromosome, female founders face unique challenges in breaking through the noise and getting their start-up story to stand out from the crowd. This practical, hands-on workshop will lay out the anatomy of a great story and offer practical strategies for cutting through the chatter. Come for a refreshingly honest and sometimes irreverent take on what it takes to own your vision out loud and leave with time-tested tools you can put to use right away.

The Wage Gap: A Productive Discussion on Solutions
Women are still making 80 cents on the dollar. The gap is even wider for African American women (63 cents) and hispanic women (54 cents). We can do better.

We welcome all genders to join this positive and productive conversation on closing the gap. We'll start with four lightning-talks from a variety of perspectives (two women in the trenches, one woman and one man in leadership). They'll each share a solution they've found in their own lives, from salary negotiation to company structure. Then we'll open the floor to questions and discussion.

You'll leave with actionable and realistic ideas on closing the pay gap for both yourself and others!

Catalyzing Feminine Leadership
Limited Capacity full
Adding this to your schedule will put you on the waitlist.

Many venture firms are finding that their highest returns come from their female-founded startups - some reporting up to 63% better than all-male teams. Find out why women leaders are well poised to make waves in entrepreneurship and how women leaders could radically change the way we launch and run businesses in today’s modern world. In this session, we will explore practices and perspectives that create a new paradigm for leadership, one that leverages the incredible power of feminine values such as empathy, connection, intuition, embodiment, and heart. Working with a balanced approach to leadership, where the feminine is as highly expressed as our masculine helps us to feel powerful and energized, and at the same time create healthy team environments based on authentic connection. In this age of connectivity and network-based business models, this new paradigm will be what gives any business a competitive edge. Join us for this timely session and be prepared to connect with other women through Emerging Women’s interactive Power Circle experience.
*This is a women only event.
