Shanao Cacao is a vertically integrated chocolate products company employing farm- to- bar production using the best and most reliable source of cacao in the world. In 2013, Shanao Cacao purchased a farm above the town of Shanao in the Rio Mayo valley of Peru, and has been working with the people of Shanao to raise the quality of their beans and build a process that will ensure a consistent product. We have built lasting relationships with the farmers that facilitate the introduction of new farming practices and processes that lead to a sustained competitive advantage in the chocolate market. The basis of our brokering model is a new form of trade that we are calling “Regenerative Trade”. We are the first farm-to-bar chocolate accelerator in Boulder.
